Cultural cooperation agreement between

Cultural cooperation agreement between Prof. Marco Pacetti, Rector of the Università degli Studi di Ancona, authorised to draw up and sign the present document by the Academic Senate on 27 April 1999 and Pe. Jesus Hortal Sanchez S.J, Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Rio de Janeiro, deeming the development of direct cultural and scientific co-operation to be mutually advantageous to both Institutions and in order to strengthen such co - operation, agree on the following issues:
Article 1
Research co - operation shall commence in the field / s of Environment issues in Engineering Education.
Co - operation shall be carried out through:
a)exchange of teaching, researching and technical personnel for workshops, seminars and common research;
b)exchange of students within integrated study programs;
c)exchange of information, documentation and scientific publications;
d)use of complex technical scientific apparatus.
The scientific project and the program of activities are described in Enclosure A.
Article 2
To accomplish point a) of Article 1, the reciprocal exchange of scientific personnel is foreseen. Enclosure B specifies for each Institution the number of researchers and duration of stay in the host Institution.
The activities indicated at point b) of Article 1 will be agreed upon, and described in Enclosure B.
Article 3
Enclosure C specifies the budget of the entire agreement.
Article 4
Medical insurance for travelling scholars will be provided according to the current norms of the host country. All partners must be sure the visiting scholars have with them form issued by their own country, or a similar
document. In case there are no international agreements for medical insurance, the host institution will provide an ad hoc medical insurance policy.
Article 5
This agreement shall be in force for a year once signed by both parties. It can be renewed one more year upon presentation of both a scientific and a financial balance sheet as well as of a budget estimate.
Article 6
The total expenditure must not exceed Italian Lire 55.000.000
Article 7
Settlement of controversies concerning the interpretation and fulfilment of the agreed terms and conditions shall be entrusted to an Arbitration Court composed by three members, one appointed respectively by each party, and the third chosen by mutual consent.
Article 8
The agreement will be signed in four originals, two in Italian and two in English. Each Institution will keep a copy in each language.
