Protocol of intentions between the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil located in Belo Horizonte, at Av. Antònio Carlos 6627, here represented by its President Prof.Francisco Cèsar de Sa Barreto, and the University of Ancona, Italy located in Ancona, at Piazza Roma 22, Here represented by its President, Prof Marco Pacetti, here formalise the present protocol of intentions according the following clauses:


FIRST CLAUSE

The present protocol of intentions has as the main objective to establish an academic and scientific cooperation between both Universities.

SECOND CLAUSE

Both Universities agree to:

A) Carry out research in specific areas of interest, established at the appropriate time, taking into account the present agreement.

B) Promote courses and seminars, and other scientific activities, by mutual agrreement, for each case.

C)Stimulate the effective interchange of lectures taking part in the scientific activities at both Universities.

D)Stimulate the conditions for exchange of pubblications, research activities and results, which unite the different institutional expriences for each Iuniversity.

THIRD CLAUSE

The research and exchange activities mentioned in the previous clause should be carried out at both University, according to programmes and projects, officially approved for each case.

FOURTH CLAUSE

Both University shall nominate a Coordinator inside the University to organise the development of projects and programmes.

FIFTH CLAUSE

The development of the programmes and projects should be analysed in detail by the Coordinator of both Universities, as mentioned in the previous clause, having in mind the mutual interests of both Universities.

SIXTH CLAUSE

Both University shall endeavour to obtain from the international and national agencies the necessary support to carry out the present protocol of intentions as effectively as feasible.

SEVENTH CLAUSE

The lecturers, students and researches taking part in any progamme should observe the regulations of the respective University.

EIGTH CLAUSE

Both University agree, as it is feasible according to each particular circumstance, to make available their human and physical resources.

The travelling and accommodation expenses shall be discussed and agreed by means of clauses, additional to this statement of intentions.



NINTH CLAUSE

The text of the present protocol can be modified at any time by mutual agreement between both University, it is valid for five years, and it shall be renewed automatically for equal periods of time.

Any modifications shall be the subject of a written communication by the interested part, observing a minumum six-moth notice, without forfeiting any action in the conditions of this agreement.

TENTH CLAUSE

Both University agree with the contents of this protocol of intentions and will abide by this agreement, so that all the necessary actions can be carried out in order to accomplish the purposes of this protocol of intentions.

ELEVENTH CLAUSE

The present protocol of intentions becomes effective after the signing by both of the involved institutions.

The present document exists in two origignals, one kept at the first University, the other at the second, having both signatures been recognised officially as having the necessary powers to formalise this agreement.
