Framework Agreement between
INSTITUTE OF PHYSIOLOGY ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC Represented by Prof. MUDr. Pavel Mares, DrSc., director and UNIVERSITY OF ANCONA Represented by Prof. Ing. Marco Pacetti, rector Agree upon the following: Art.1 The Institute of Physiology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and the University of Ancona are proposed through the present convention: - To promote and upgrade the scientific culture by means of a research co-operation in all the fields of both institutions; Research co-operation shall commence in the field of biology of the adipose organ Art.2 In order to achieve the aims of art. 1 the aforementioned institutions will jointly develop a programme of work and exchange and shall seek funds to draw up the necessary budgets in order to guarantee, in equal measure, the interests of each party. Art.3 The agreement tends to promote activities of exchange between the two structures in order to develop the collaboration in the field of research. The students can participate to such programs of exchange only for extraordinary and motivated requirements when such requirements cannot be satisfied by the inter-university co-operations that are realised by the European Union and other institutions. Art.4 The expenses for the provisions mentioned in art. 2 are divided as follows: a) The sending institution covers the travel expenses of the scientists; the receiving institution covers the subsistence expenses. b) The expenses for conventions, agreed research and instruction programs are equally divided. c) The expenses can be differently divided if third party funding fiinds the scientists. d) Long-term exchanges (one semester or one academic year) shall be covered by special agreements. Art.5 The receiving institution can stipulate an appropriate insurance policy to assure scientists in case of accident. Art.6 Within the present agreement each structure elects its own promoter (or representative). The two representatives have to decide the research program and the relative source of funding (see art. 1 and 2) and to verify the realisation of the mentioned aims. The representative of the University of Ancona is Prof. Saverio Cinti, the representative of the Institute of Physiology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is MUDr. Jan Kopecky, CSc. Art.7 The resolution of possible controversies about the interpretation and the execution of the present agreement will be assigned to an arbitrate College composed of a member designated from each party and one chosen up on common agreement. Art.8 The present agreement is effective for 1 year since its coming into force; before the expiration, in case of mutual consent between the two structures, the agreement will be renewed in writing for 3 years.
