AGREEMENT FOR COOPERATION
This Agreement has been signed in Ancona, on 6 September 2006, among the Università Politecnica delle Marche at Ancona, Italia, represented by its Rector Prof. Dr. Marco Pacetti, and the Andalas University in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia represented by its Rector Prof. Dr. Musliar Kasim herein aftér referred to as 'the Instìtutìon(s)'

Confìrming their interest in the development of cooperation in the field of higher education, technology and science between the two Instìtutìons, to their mutuai advantage, have agreed as follows:
Art. 1
The purpose of this Agreement is to define aims and terms of agreement between the cooperating Institutions.
Art 2
The scope of the Agreement embraces teaching, research, student exchange, and joint research.
Art. 3
The Instìtutìons agree to the following forms of cooperatìon:
in the field of education:
-       to exchange experiences on teaching methods,
-       to exchange staff members for the purpose of lectures, seminars, etc.,
-       to organize practìcal work for students;
in the field of research:
-          to carry out joùit research projects hi the fields of mutuai interests,
-          to exchange scientific and technical information,
-          to coordinate research studies,
-          to exchange scientific results in a defined subject area;
-          to organize joint seminars, conferences, symposia, etc.;
-          to make joint publication
in the field of student exchange:
-       to create the conditions enabling students to take up M.Sc., Ph.D. or postgraduate studies at a partner mstìtutìon,
-       to exchange students for a period of one semester or its part, or for a time needed to carry out a project work, practical training or to prepare a thesis,

-       to carry out joint research programs by students,
Art.4
In order to attain specific objectives within this Agreement, a detailed pian of cooperation will be concluded each year. This pian will constitute an Addendum to this Agreement.
Art.5
1.      This Agreement does not entail financial obligations for any of the parties to this Agreement
2.      The Institutions agree to make necessary efforts for the purpose of raising funds to realize provisions of this Agreement
Art.6
1.      The co-operatìng Institutions agree to send their faculty members in accordance with the regulations in force in each Institution.
2.      Detailed terms of agreement, in particular financial conditions, time and length of stay of the representatives of each Institution, will be set out in the Addendum, referred to hi Art 4 of this Agreement
Art.7
1.   The co-operating Institutions agree to share the publication right of the data generated from the joint research on a joint publication.
2.   The co-operating Institutions agree to share the right of patent of ali discoveries and inventions generated from the co-operative research.
Art.8
To implement the cooperation the Person in Charge (PIC) are:
1.   Prof. Giorgio Bavestrello ( Università Politecnica Delle Marche)
2.   Prof. Edison Munaf (University of Andalas)
Art. 9
1.      This Agreement is concluded for 5 years period of time.
2.      This Agreement enters into force upon signature by Rectors of the co-operating Institutions.
3.      Cancellation of the Agreement may be effected by any of the Institutions by written notice and the agreement would expire 6 months from the date of the written notice.
4.      Ali changes and supplements to this Agreement require the signatory consent of the Institutions.
