RESEARCHING STAFF EXCHANGE

Within the framework of the Memorandum of Agreement between Università Politecnica delle Marche and Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology signed on 1 November 2005, and with particular reference to Art. 2 (Teaching and Researching Staff Exchange), the parties agree on the following:

-   A joint research programme will be carried out ,starting in year 2006, that deals with the upgrading of the existing Siyuan College (Xi'an - China) wastewater treatment plant by the adoption of advanced automatically controlled technologies for nutrients removal.

During the development of the research programme n. 2 researchers from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology will work at Università Politecnica delle Marche for an overall period of n. 4 months, that will be composed of n. 2 short stays of n. 15 days each and n. 1 long stays of n. 90 days.

The researchers will be chosen by mutual consent of XAUAT and UNIVPM on the basis of their curricula and their research interest. Their names will be attached to this annex when available.

The sending University (XAUAT) will pay for the travel costs from China to Italy, while the host University (UNIVPM) will pay for board and lodging at one of the University Student's Houses.

The research project will be co-ordinated by prof. Paolo Battistoni (Istituto di Idraulica e Infrastrutture Viarie - UNIVPM), for the UNIVPM side, and by prof. Xiaochang C. Wang (Vice-President - XAUAT), for the XAUAT side. The coordinators will inspect the work done by the researchers during the development of the programme. They will also make a final report that summons the results of the research.

-   In order to finance the research project during its future development, the co-ordinators will be also allowed to fìnd adequate resources coming from or private or public sources.
