WITNESSETH:

Whereas, both institutions are willing to enter into reciprocal agreements for purposes to reinforce the academic relationship and relating to the exchange of students;

Whereas, the parties hereto are mutually desirous of entering into such an agreement with relation to students of UNISO and Università Politecnica delle Marche;

Whereas, the parties agree that it is to their mutual benefit and interest to set forth the terms of their understanding and agreement in writing;

Now therefore, in consideration of the above premises and individual and mutual promises of the parties hereinafter set forth, and for other good and valuable consideration it is hereby agreed by and between the parties hereto:

1. That the term of this agreement shall come into effect from the moment of signature with the duration of fours years; provided, however, that the agreement shall continue thereafter automatically for successive one year terms, subject, however, to the right of either party at any time to terminate this agreement upon provision of written notice to the other of intent to terminate the contract within one (1) year from the date of the written notice.

2. That participating students from both instifutions shall pay tuition fees to their home institution and then study at the other institution without further charges for tuition fees.

3.  That Università Politecnica delle Marche shall accept not more than 5 (five)
students from UNISO in the academic year 2008/2009 and a similar number
thereafter. UNISO shall in return accept an equivalent number from PSU in the
academic year 2008/2009 and thereafter.

4. Each institution will aim at maintaining reciprocity in the number of students exchanged each year. In the event that a balanced exchange is not met during an academic year, adjustments can be made in following academic years.

5. That each institution shall advise the other of the academic requirements for
admission to any program, department, school or college in which students will
be exchanged.         

6. That each institution shall help to arrange local accommodations for visiting students; provided, however, that cost of said local accommodations shall be responsability of and borne by the visiting students.

7. That each institution shall devise suitable programs of academic instruction for the exchange students and that each institution shall be responsible for any academic credit to be awarded to the students.

8. Each university warrants that official transcripts or written assessments of the students' completed work will be sent to the students' home university in a prompt and timely manner before the beginning of the next academic term.

9. That each institution will require partecipating students to maintain their own medical/health insurance to provide coverage while partecipating in a student exchange and all students shall be required to provide evidence of such insurance to the host institution.

10. That each institution  shall be responsable for the  choice of students partecipating in the exchange, subject to fìnal approval by the host institution.

11. That each partecipating student or his/her institution shall be solely responsable for travel arrangements and the costs thereof.

12.  That students from each institution studying abroad under this exchange
agreement shall be subject to the same rules and regulations as local
students.

13. That the exchange of students pursuant to the terms of the agreement shall begin with the 1° (first) semester of the 2008/2009 academic year.

14. Each institution should designate an individual and office responsable for receiving written Communications about this agreement. Any modification of this agreement shall be in writing and signed by both parties.

15. In the event that any condition, covenant or other provision herein contained is held to be invalid or void by any court of competent jurisdiction, the same shall be deemed severable from the remainder of this Agreement and shall in no way affect any other condition, covenant or other provision herein contained. If such condition, covenant or other provision shall be deemed invalid due to its scope or breadth, such condition, covenant or other provision shall be deemed valid to the extent of the scope or breadth, permitted by law.
