Agreement between
UNIVERSITÀ POLITECNICA DELLE MARCHE - ITALY
and
UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE SAO CARLOS - BRAZIL
PREAMBLE
The Rector of the "Università Politecnica delle Marche"and the Rector of the Universidade Federal de Sào Carlos willing to reinforce their academic relationship and to establìsh new co-operative ways, agreed the following issues:
Article 1
The present agreement has been designed to facilitate University co-operation in both academie and research fields during the three cycles of higher education in common areas.
Article 2
In order to develop this co-operative programme, both parties agree to:
1. exchange the results of their pedagogie expedences (seminare, courses, etc);
2. inform the other party about the congresses, debates, scientific meetings and seminars organized by each University, and exchange those documents and publications resulting from these activities;
3. foster, by respecting the laws in force in each country, the participation of the teaching staff of the partner University in courses, meetings, seminars, symposiums and conferences organized within-the yearly programmes of co-operation;
4. foster the exchange of lecturers for a fixed period of time, being academic or research actìvities their main objectives. The exchanges will be regulated by the agreements between the departments involved;
5. accepted students from the partner institution, provide they meet the in-force requirements established by the host University and under fixed suitabilìty conditions. As regards accident insurance, the students will be subject to the rules in force at the receiving University.
Article 3
Medical insurance for mobility students and researchers will be provided according to the
current norms of the host country. In case there are no international agreements for medical
insurance, the visiting person can provide for a medical insurance policy by himself or have
it issued by the sending institution. ^
Article 4
The specific co-operative programmes shall be drawn up annually and attached to the agreement.
Article 5
Both institutions have to decide the research programme and thè relative source of funding for its fulfillment.
Article 6
Any modification to the agreement, made upon consent of both institutions, must follow a procedure identical to that of the original agreement.
Article 7
Signed in two languages, two copies in English and two copies in Portuguese, both of them being equally valid.
Article 8
The agreement shall be forwarded to each instìtution's Government Bodies and signed by their principals. The agreement shall come into effect once signed by the parties.
Article 9
This agreement shall be in force for two years once signed by both parties. It can be renewed one more year upon presentation of both a scientific and a fìnancial balance sheet as wett as of a budget estimate.
Article 10
The agreeement may be withdrawn by any of thè parties at any tìme provideé a three-
month notice is given.
