The course of study in short

The Bachelor’s Degree Course aims to train nursing operators who are assigned the duties provided for by the Ministerial Decree of the Ministry of Health of September 14, 1994, n. 739 and subsequent amendments. It arises from the cooperation between the University and the Region Marche.
Lessons and exercises are held in the headoffice of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Ancona and in the Didactic Centre of Pesaro, Macerata, Ascoli Piceno and Fermo. The practical internship is carried out in the health facilities of the Marche Region under the supervision of qualified professional personnel; the internship activity is preceded and / or integrated by didactic laboratory activities carried out in a protected environment in the didactic locations, under the guidance of professionals dedicated full-time to coordination and tutoring activities.
The study program is enriched by an English course and an Information Technology course which are added to the curricular courses. Students are also offered a wide range of monographic courses on topics related to the subjects dealt with as well as forums on specific subjects such as: anthropology, deontology, health management, ethics in clinical practices and history of medicine.
Future nurses and future doctors are trained together under the guidance of the same professors and in the same workplaces, preparing to work as a team. The Bachelor’s degree course ends with a final exam with enabling value.Students find employment a few days after graduation. It is also possible to continue the studies with the Master's Degree in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences or a First Level Master's Degree.

Professional nursing

Function in a work context:

As part of professional nursing, graduates are health care workers which have the duties provided by DM the Ministry of Health September 14, 1994, n. 739 and subsequent amendments and additions; or are responsible for general nursing. Such nursing  preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative  care is of technical, relational and educational nature. 

Skills associated with the function:

Their main functions are disease prevention, care for the sick and disabled people of all ages and health education. Graduates in nursing participate in identification of health needs of the person and the community; identify the nursing needs of the person and the community and formulate its goals; plan, manage and evaluate the nursing care intervention; ensure the proper diagnostic and therapeutic prescriptions

Employment opportunities:

Graduates in Nursing act both individually and in collaboration with other health and social workers, making use, where necessary, of the work of support staff; carry out their professional activity in public or private health facilities in the area and in home care, as employees or freelancers; contribute to the training of support staff and directly contribute to updating their professional profile and research skills.
