The Bachelor’s Degree Course aims to train health operators who, pursuant to the Ministerial Decree of the Ministry of Health of September 26, 1994, n. 746 and subsequent amendments and additions, are responsible for the deeds of their competence; they are authorized to carry out radiological investigations and performances, in compliance with the radiation protection regulations. The graduates in “Medical Radiology Techniques for Imaging and Radiotherapy (TRMIR)', according to the law of 21 January, n. 25, are authorized to perform, independently, or in collaboration with other health professionals, all interventions on medical prescription that require the use of sources of ionizing radiation, both artificial and natural, of thermal, ultrasonic, nuclear magnetic resonance energies as well as interventions for physical or dosimetric safety; they participate in the planning and organization of work within the structure in which they operate in compliance with their skills; they manage the supply of multipurpose services within their competence in direct collaboration with the radiodiagnostic doctor, nuclear doctor, radiotherapist doctor and the health physicist, according to diagnostic and therapeutic protocols previously defined by the head of the structure; they are responsible for their competence, in particular by checking the correct functioning of the equipment entrusted to them, ensuring the elimination of minor problems and implementing verification and control programs to guarantee quality according to predefined indicators and standards; they carry out their activity in public or private health structures, in a dependent or freelance relationship; they contribute to the training of support staff and to the updating of their professional profile and research. As part of the training of graduates in techniques of medical radiology, imaging and radiotherapy, the university ensures adequate training in the field of protection from ionizing radiation.

In order to foster the international mobility of students and graduates, and to facilitate the processes of job placement in health facilities, some obligatory courses are offered in English. Furthermore, in order to develop the knowledge of the specialist language of the healthcare profession of reference of the class, with reference also to the specific technical-disciplinary lexicon, in addition to the teaching of the English language (level B1) it is also offered a teaching of Scientific English, through which the student will acquire language skills comparable to level B2.

The course is open to a limited number of students and therefore the access requires to pass a selection exam which takes place in the first half of September; it lasts three years and ends with a final exam with enabling value; in addition to the curricular courses, students are offered a wide range of monographic courses and seminar activities on topics related to the subjects dealt with. An adequate professional laboratory and practical training activity is also guaranteed in the health facilities of the Marche Region under the supervision of professionals dedicated to coordination and tutoring activities.
The three-year degree course ends with a final exam with an enabling value.


The degree obtained also allows access to advanced training courses (Specialized Masters) as well as to the Magisterial Degree Course in Diagnostic Technical Professions Sciences characterized by high skills in care, management, training and research processes in one of the fields relevant to the different health professions included in the class:

Health Technician of Medical Radiology

Function in a work context:  

Graduates are health care professionals responsible for taking powers provided by the DM the Ministry of Health September 26, 1994, no. 746 and subsequent amendments and additions; or are responsible for the acts of their jurisdiction and are authorized to carry out investigations and radiological services, in compliance with the radiation protection standards laid down by the European Union.

Skills associated with the function:

Graduates in radiological diagnostic techniques are qualified to carry out, in accordance with the provisions of the Law of 31 January 1983 no. 25, independently or in collaboration with other health professionals, on prescription all work requiring the use of ionizing radiation sources, both artificial and natural, thermal energy, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging and interventions the protectionist or physical dosimetry;
participate in the planning and organization of work within the structure in which they operate in accordance with their skills;
plan and manage the provision of general performance of their expertise in direct cooperation with the medical radiodiagnosta, with nuclear medicine, radiation oncologist with the doctor and the physical health, according to diagnostic and therapeutic protocols defined in advance by the manager of the facility;
are responsible for the acts of their competence, in particular checking the correct operation of the equipment entrusted to them, providing for the elimination of drawbacks which are small and implementing programs to monitor and control quality assurance according to indicators and standards.

Employment opportunities:

The graduates in “Medical Radiology Techniques for Imaging and Radiotherapy (TRMIR)" is a health professional that carry out their activities in health care facilities, public or private, in relation to employment or freelance;contribute to the training of support staff and contribute directly updating their professional profile and research.
