The Università Politecnica delle Marche, which was founded in 1969 in Ancona, offers excellent conditions for study and research in a stimulating and comfortable environment.
Ancona is located along the central Adriatic coast on an elbow-shaped promontory (its name in fact derives from the Greek word “Ankon” meaning elbow). Ancona boasts one of Italy’s most important ports.
It is a town of artistic interest, dominated by the Romanesque Cathedral of San Ciriaco which stands on the Guasco hill. Its historic centre is full of monuments, elegant shops and characteristic meeting places for young people. Ancona is the capital of the Marche Region and one of its most important economic centres.
For tourists, it offers six kilometres of clean sandy beaches. Not far from Ancona, there are several holiday resorts along the Riviera del Conero which each year are awarded the Blue Flag by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) in recognition of the high environmental and quality standards achieved.
The Monte Conero Natural Park, characterised by its typical Mediterranean vegetation, offers paths with breathtaking views for walks, horse-riding or mountain biking.
As the first Italian University to obtain Quality Certification in accordance with the International Standard ISO 9001, the Università Politecnica delle Marche is a point of reference in the region for the training of both Italian and foreign students. Access to the various academic programmes and university study resources are facilitated by numerous multimedia centres, by the functional facilities and by the fully equipped laboratories located in each Faculty.
Students who have to choose an academic programme are assisted in this important decision by the University Guidance Service. Our aim is to identify the course which best fits the student’s personal inclinations, interests, expectations and potential.
