The course of study in short

The Degree Course in “Business Administration” (hereinafter, the DC), held in San Benedetto del Tronto, is open to students who aim to cover positions as middle managers, managers or consultants in the different business functions, in companies, private and public entities and organizations, of different sizes and operating in different economic sectors and contexts both at national and international level. The DC is also open to students who aim to continue their studies with a master degree in business or economics, provided by both the Faculty of Economics “G. Fuà” of the Università Politecnica delle Marche and other Italian and foreign universities. The DC, therefore, aims to transfer knowledge and skills allowing students to start working or to continue their studies to the next level.

A distinctive feature of the DC is the attention paid to digitalization processes that affect the overall economic system. In fact, they influence all business functions and they make it necessary to train professionals able to manage them and to deal with and to exploit changes they produce.

Attention paid to the digitalization processes is expressed with both the provision of (optional) basic courses such as 'Sociology of communication and new technologies' or 'Digital economy', and the provision of professionalizing courses designed with reference to the two curricula in which the CdS is articulated which are characterized by different focuses.

The curriculum “Administration and control of companies” aims to train three-year graduates able to cover the roles of middle managers, managers and consultants in the context, in particular, of the administration, control, finance and human resources functions. It also aims to train three-year graduates who, after the internship and the state exam, as regulated by extant laws, aim to take up the professions of accounting expert, statutory auditor and labour consultant. Among the specific professionalizing courses of the curriculum focused on the digitalization of the administrative and control processes, the course of “Digital Accounting” is proposed.

The curriculum “Marketing and digital business”, on the other hand, aims to train three-year graduates able to cover the roles of middle managers, managers and consultants in the context, in particular, of the commercial and the marketing functions. Among the specific professionalizing courses of the curriculum, focused on the digitalization of marketing processes, the courses of “Digital Business and Web Marketing” and “Social Media Marketing” are proposed.

The first two years of the two curricula are specular and they aim at transferring basic knowledge and skills (relating to business, economic, law, mathematical-statistical, historical-sociological and linguistic disciplines) necessary for all the outlets indicated above.
The third year of the course, on the other hand, is characterized on the basis of the selected curriculum with reference to compulsory courses. In both curricula, students can choose some courses, both within the defined set of courses and within the overall educational offer of the DC. Through the choices of the curriculum, first, and of the professional courses, then, the student can define the most functional/suitable study plan for the job or the master degree course that he intends to undertake later.

In the context of the DC, particular attention is paid to the learning of a foreign language. In fact, the DC provides for two compulsory foreign language courses, one in the first year and one in the second year of the course, for a total of 9 CFU, and a further foreign language course, if chosen by the student, in the third year of the course, for 6 CFU. Students who have an appropriate language certification can request the recognition of some of the aforementioned courses.

During the third year of the course, the DC allows students to carry out a curricular internship (6 or 9 CFU) in companies, private and public entities and organizations and professionals. The internship has both educational purposes and orientation purposes since it allows students to verify, to deepen and to expand the knowledge and skills acquired in the DC and, at the same time, to gain knowledge of the world of work.

The DC also allows students to take part to international mobility programs by carrying out a period of study or internship abroad.

As a result of the agreement signed between the Università Politecnica delle Marche – Faculty of Economics “G. Fuà” and the Agricultural University of Tirana – Faculty of Economics and Agribusiness (Albania), the students of the DC participating in the double degree program are awarded the qualification by both the universities participating in the agreement.

To be admitted to the DC an upper secondary school diploma or other qualification obtained abroad, recognized as suitable, is requested. Moreover, an adequate initial preparation is necessary. This is ascertained through a test focused on four thematic areas: general culture, logic, mathematics, modern and contemporary history. Failure to pass the test, however, does not affect enrolment.

Students can choose between a 'full-time' and a 'part-time' enrolment. The second one involves an extension of the ordinary duration of the course of study (from 3 to 6 years) and a reduction in annual fees and contributions. Part-time enrolment can be particularly useful for student-workers who are unable to guarantee a 'full-time' and continuous commitment.

The DC offers a service dedicated to welcoming, assisting and integrating students with disabilities and/or specific learning disabilities (SLD) in order to make their university career easier and more accessible.
