Curriculum Marine Biology and Ecology: the course prepares students to become researchers in basic and applied marine research. Its main objective is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct research in environmental issues.
Students will be prepared to plan and carry out research, gather and analyse data through an interdisciplinary approach and use the results of the research for operational and scientific purposes.
Curriculum Biomolecular Sciences: students will achieve the expertise to carry out research in molecular and cellular biology in public and private settings.
Students will learn how to investigate issues and solve problems through an interdisciplinary approach and the use of advanced techniques.
The theoretical knowledge and the practical skills acquired will provide the expertise required to work in key industrial areas, such as biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
Curriculum Environmental Sciences and Civil Protection: the course aims to develop safe and sustainable person-environment interaction patterns, thereby creating a new generation of experts in civil and environmental protection, that will have the abilities to operate at a local and international level for the resolution of emergencies and the development of land and urban planning strategies, for the protection of persons and of the environment from natural and human-caused hazards.
Admission to PhD programs is regulated by a public competition.
To be considered for admissions, applicants must hold a specialization / master's degree or a prior-to-reform master's degree (predating ministerial decree 509/99) or an appropriate qualification obtained from a foreign university, or expect to hold a master's degree by 31 October of the year of publication of the call.
