Research activities abroad

PhD students can be authorized by the Faculty Board to temporarily do research in universities and organizations abroad.

For study and research activities abroad authorized by the Faculty Board, the amount of the scholarship can be increased up to 50%. The stay shall not be shorter than 30 days and not longer than 12 months overall (art 11 Doctoral Courses Regulation).

Before the students starts his/her period abroad, the PhD-Programme Coordinator shall send the Rector through the Ripartizione Dottorato di Ricerca e post laurea (PhD office) the authorization thereof.

The additional scholarship amount will be paid in deferred monthly installments; the PhD Programme Coordinator shall submit the Ripartizione Dottorato di Ricerca e post laurea (PhD office) the attendance certificate proving the attendance of the previous month (i.e.: the certificate proving the attendance in March must be submitted within April 10^th. Therefore the scholarship the students will receive in April will include the 50% additional amount for March).

The authorization by the PhD-Programme coordinator and the monthly attendance certificates will be sent to the Ripartizione Dottorato di Ricerca e post laurea (PhD office) using the form in the online section “Forms for teaching personnel”.

The 50% additional amount is not due to students admitted in a Doctoral Program reserved for candidates who graduated in non-italian universities, spending their research activity period in their own country of origin.
