Project

Mixing and transport in the coastal area.

Project description

The project aims at developing a 2DH numerical solver for the description of coastal processes related to mixing and transport of particles Dedicated laboratory or field experiments will be conducted on the dispersion of tracers in the nearshore zone. The 2DH solver will be validated using both the dedicated experiments and a 3D model for the detailed description of the physical processes occurring nearby coastal structures.

Requirements

Candidates should have a master level degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Maritime Engineering.

In particular the candidates should have skills in scientific computing.
Proficiency in English is required.

Secondments: Department of Civil Engineering – University of Patras, Greece (4 months) –Mentucci Aldo Costruzioni s.r.l., Senigallia (AN) – Italy (3 months).
