Coastal resilience.
The project aims at comparing quick and time-consuming approaches for the coastal resilience analysis. The first goal is the modelling of coastal inundation and morphological changes over selected European beaches. After the standardization of the combined use of observations and modelling, the second goal is the search for indicators to correlate wave forcing and beach morphology and evaluate coastal resilience, as well as adaptation/mitigation strategies in view of future climatic projections.
Candidates should have a master level degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Maritime Engineering.
In particular, the candidates should have skills in scientific computing.
Proficiency in English is required.
Secondments: Department of Civil Engineering – University of Nottingham, United Kingdom (4 months) – Coast&Oceans division for the HR Wallingford limited- United Kingdom (3 months).
